In the first days of December, we finally got to the stage where a building permit was issued for the construction of roads and utility lines in the garden city of Rabarebase. In cooperation with Kiili Municipality, we came to the realisation that implementing all of the traffic solutions we wanted in terms of cycle paths and parking is unfortunately impossible. But even so, we achieved a result that is safe and comfortable for all road users. As there are no plans for development on the adjacent plots in the near future, there will be no transit streets in Rabarebase Garden City, at least for the time being, and only people will be moving around there.
Our diggers were literally waiting and immediately got to work. The first step is to strip the soil beneath the future streets on the construction site. Water and sewerage lines, drainage, electricity cables and street lighting will then be installed. Gravel bases for the streets will be completed last and new asphalt will be laid when the first warm spring day arrives. Construction of the buildings will start once the streets are finished.
The technical design of the buildings is currently underway. During this work, we will gain an understanding of what the solutions to structures and assemblies will be. Also all sorts of technical parameters – ventilation air volumes, solar panel configurations, underfloor heating capacities, etc. We’ll be able to publish more details in February-March.
